Mindy Pechenuk Backs Oakland NAACP's Plea for State of Emergency Amid Escalating Crime Crisis

As the author of the Alameda County Republican Party resolution calling for the Recall of DA Pamela Price (see full resolution here) that passed on May 17, 2023,  I FULLY ENDORSE and  support the NAACP Call for Declaration of A State of Emergency to deal with the problems and the solutions which are urgently needed .

My personal thanks Cynthia Adams,  Bishop Jackson and the entire Oakland NAACP for their mobilization calling on everyone to "speak out and demand improved public safety". The statement released by the Oakland Branch of the NAACP on July 27, 2023 by Cynthia Adams, President of the Oakland NAACP and Bishop Bob Jackson, Senior Pastor, Acts full Gospel Church, speaks well to the problems and the solutions. The deliberate years of shutting down our industrial jobs in Oakland and throughout California and the nation has been deliberate. This loss of mission and productive life was consciously replaced with increasing use of drugs of all kinds, to the point we now have drug cartels, and illegal cannabis grows right inside our own state. This goes with destroying our education system. Our future, our youth need us now to stand and mobilize.

The rate of crime, violence, homelessness and drugs in Oakland over the last years has increased at an unprecedented rate. The current leadership in the State Assembly and Senate, Oakland City Council, the current Attorney General and the current District Attorney have not only not helped to solve the problem, but under their leadership it has gotten worse. Those leaders, then throw money for projects to ease the pain, but never solve the root of the problems  There are reasons for this lack of leadership, which is why I am running for State Assembly 18, which is Oakland, Alameda and Emeryville. Together with the efforts of the NAACP, and others let us unite and work together. If we don't it will only get worse for coming generations.

We need to fund the police, we need to recall District Attorney Pamela Price NOW. San Francisco was able to recall their District Attorney.

I CALL ON  ALL OTHER ELECTED OFFICIALS AND CANDIDATES OF ALL PARTIES TO ALSO FULLY ENDORSE THIS IMPORTANT STATEMENT  NO MATTER WHAT PARTY YOU ARE IN.

I CALL ON ALL OF THE CITIZENS OF ALAMEDA COUNTY TO RALLY TO THIS URGENT CAMPAIGN.

There are solutions and we need to unite to make them happen!

Below are some of the steps I am working to make happen now and as your State Assembly leader in 2024.
  • I will do the work to shut down “criminal unregulated banking centers” and replace them with the American System of National banking to support the working family and our future.
  • I will support the necessary National Guard and Police action to stop all drug activity. Not only our borders and ports, but also clearing out the cartels inside California. There is no way a local Sheriff can do this on his or her own. Our Sheriffs, Police and Civil Grand Jury’s need to be reinforced and get what is needed to shut down the cartels
  • I will push for coordinated US military deployment with Mexico and other countries. This tactic began to work under President Trump, working with Mexico and shutting our southern border, as well as President Trump pressure on China to stop their Fentanyl from coming into the United States.
  • California needs to authorize the power to confiscate and disband business and political associations that are associated with the drug trafficking, as well as hold those involved in this criminal activity to be tried and found guilty of destroying the lives of our citizens.
  • I will go after the financial and corporate institutions which are involved in allowing this criminal activity to prosper.
  • I will promote rehabilitation centers and programs that will help get those addicted to drugs and the homeless. This is what is needed, not safe injection sites as promoted by some of the California State Legislature.
  •  I will lead the fight to create productive jobs, industry, agriculture for our Assembly District and for the entire state.
